Due to Hurricane Irma, the public hearing comment period for the Cortez Bridge PD&E Study has been extended through September 30, 2017. Any comments received after that time will still be included in the project files.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One is doing a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study about the future of Cortez Bridge on State Road (SR) 684 in Manatee County, Florida. The study is looking at the bridge and roadway approaches from SR 789 (Gulf Drive) to 123rd Street West, a distance of about 0.9 mile.

FDOT completed a repair project in 2015 to keep Cortez Bridge safe and in operable condition for another 10 years.
